Vitamin A

How is Vitamin A important to your oral health?

Lack of Vitamin A can lead to increased Keratin formation of your oral epithelium which can block salivary gland ducts. Additionally, it can cause a delay in eruption of teeth. Enamel production can be severely affected leading to enamel hypoplasia (deficiency) and atypical dentition formation. Further, vitamin A helps to prevent dry mouth and increase healing ability.
